Immersion by Realism
Our definition of “Immersion by Realism”
Immersion by realism to us means we don’t cut corners out or take out real life factors to get into a gunfight. Ideally there would be no gunfight, if we’re being honest. Moving several kilometers in total silence while SOAR assets monitor the AO for over an hour is standard operational pacing. Conducting operations with the entire group, in which the objective contains less than 5 enemies is standard operational force tailoring. Sometimes nobody even has to shoot. Other times we can’t get enough operators or birds to feel like we’re in control of the AO; it changes every week. It’s never a guaranteed gunfight, but it’s always an operation that can go a variety of ways.
When we train, we go over the finer points and intent of the drill, then we cover it again two weeks later, maybe 3 weeks after that, etc. As with most things in life, if you focus on the smaller details you realize how in depth simple concepts like two man entry can be. We pride ourselves in prioritizing teamwork over individual kill count, proper execution of real life tactical concepts over first person shooter capabilities, and willingness to take a knee, shut the fuck up, and wait.
